GUIDELINES FOR TEACHING CLINICS

  • Practitioners bringing patients for consultations will participate in the teaching clinic for a minimum of 1 full day.

  • Practitioners bringing patients pay tuition for teaching and oversight of patient treatment.

  • We do our very best to accommodate scheduling needs for your patients.

  • Please let your patients know that there will be occasional circumstance when a treatment will run longer than planned. This could mean some delay in the treatment beginning or running a bit longer. If the patient has no flexibility in her/his schedule, the practitioner is to inform Laura or Noah Stelmok at the beginning of the day. We work with respect to scheduled times as closely as possible.

  • The Teaching Clinic is kept vital by participating practitioners. The teaching is to train and inspire excellence in practitioners and to provide exceptional service for all patients. Some patients will utilize the treatment services of the teaching clinic over time for cultivation and work that reaches toward potential and/or work with chronic illness.

  • We have a 48 hour treatment cancellation policy. Except in cases of true emergency, fees will be charged for missed appointments. Practitioners are responsible to communicate this to their patients and to secure missed appointment fees.

GUIDELINES FOR DRAGON DAYS / LONG TREATMENT DAYS

  • Please arrive and depart at the times specified, neither early nor late.

  • Professional attire is required. Bring one set of black and one set of white clothing.

  • Please stay attentive to the movement between treatments and arrive at each treatment promptly. There will often be a patient in another room, as well, so please keep your presence professional.

  • Do not enter or leave a treatment room while a treatment is in progress, unless you have clear instructions from Laura or Noah, or in the case of an emergency.

  • Care for the Clinic: Respect and care for the place is essential for the proper care of patients and the teaching environment. Please be attentive to this. Participants are expected to help clean, neaten and prepare the treatment room, the waiting room and the kitchen/meeting area when needed. At the end of the day the treatment room and common areas should be as they were at the start of the day.

  • In the Treatment Room:  No food or drink is permitted in the treatment rooms.  If you have health concerns or specific needs regarding liquid or food, please tell Noah so this can be accommodated.

  • Practitioners are responsible for bringing acupuncture supplies for treating your patients.  Practitioners are responsible for payment of treatment fees from your patients to The Unseen Hand. Please collect these fees and pay them in one lump sum to Noah at the end.  Practitioners are responsible for missed appointment fees by their patients.

  • We work with the schedule as best as we can, but please let your patients know that we are working with ancient medicine that lives inside the deeper currents of nature and there may be shifts in timing.

  • Required Preparation:  To prepare for these long treatment days please read the documents with information about this training including information about long treatments, self-care and our code of ethics.

  • If you have any medical conditions that may affect your ability to participate in any way, please speak with Noah and we will do our very best to accommodate you.

  • Patient Fees: Practitioners are responsible for collecting the patient’s full treatment fee.

  • Please note:  We ask for a donation of $15-$35/night for lodging at Sheepscot Hollow.
